The National Center for the Biotechnology Workforce hosted a panel discussion here in downtown Winston-Salem on February 2, 2006. Speakers communicated accomplishments and visions at the event, and there was a feeling that, indeed the promises of biotechnology are coming true before our eyes. But this meeting also was about making the connections and developing the cooperative teamwork required to overcome biotech's obstacles and challenges yet ahead.
Biotech leaders from around the country, working in education, industry and economic development, gathered to address the most critical element affecting the bio-boom in the United States today: training the workforce.
